2020: RIP ICND1 and ICND2

2020: RIP ICND1 and ICND2
Okay, this is a quick post as I got less than 3 months to pass the CCNA certification’s 200-105 test. So, if anyone who passed the ICND1 test, then you got like less than 90 days to study hard and set an appointment with Vue testing center. If you have not taken the ICND1 or you are barely studying the 200-125 material, then I suggest to wait and focus on the new 200-301. Other than that, this is the free or good value material for people who wants to take the 200-105 test. BOOK ISBM: 9781587205798 The "CCNA Routing and Switching ICND2 200-105 Official Cert Guide" by Wendell Odom is going cheap as in less than 90 days, these books will be obsolete. Please Continue reading

Winpython: Using Python and IDLE in a USB

Wait, is it already a month!? More like I kind of forgot about this website. I guess I will write something quick about programing: Python on USB flash drive. One thing I want from my school is that computers has the Python IDLE installed. Sadly, that is too much for the system admins to do. Lucky form me I found a website that helps me to use python 3 on a USB drive. Winpython.github.io has created a portable version for the Python programing language for Windows computers. As of today, they are using version 3.7.4. If you are a student, then I recommend you use the official one at Python.org, but you need one that needs to be portable, then download Continue reading

Getting free certification voucher for military, veterans, and spouses

Getting free certification voucher for military, veterans, and spouses
Just a quick post about free certification education and vouchers for Veterans, military members transitioning to civilian life, Reservist, National Guard, or military spouses: For people who have served in the military and want a certification such as A+, Network+, CISSP, etc. then I recommend checking out Onward to Opportunity (O2O) or CyberVetsUSA for education and certification help. However, today I will talk about O2O, as I got accepted to get free education and one voucher for CompTIA, Cisco, Oracle, or any other exam that they offer. First, I would like the Schultz Family Foundation and other sponsors for making this possible. Exam vouchers can cost Continue reading

Geting your Network+ Education for Cheap

Geting your Network+ Education for Cheap
It took forever, but I finally got the Network+ certification. Because I got the A+ cert, I have CompTIA IT Operations Specialist (CIOS) stackable cert. One reason I got the CompTIA Net+ certification was that getting the CCNA certification is too tough. I remember when I took the ICND1 test, I got a low passing score. Therefore, my confidence tanked on taking the ICND2 certification test in the near future. So, I went to a different route: getting the Network+ cert. Below are the study materials that I used and it requires low or no cost to pass the N10-007 test. The study period can range from 5-8 weeks. If you are really good at taking test, then you can Continue reading

CCNA Routing and Switching: Connecting Networks review

CCNA Routing and Switching: Connecting Networks review
I just finished the 4th course and final class for Cisco Networking. After this, I think I can take the CCNA certification test. In less than one year, I study my butt off and push myself in learning about networking. This quick 8- week semester was a bit easier than the CCNA-3, but it requires a bit more planning to do a student project and the CCNA-4 case study. The case study is a giant packet tracer assignment that test everything you learn from all 4 courses. I will spare you the details for the student project, which is a project to do a PowerPoint and show the class what is your dream network. The case study is a packet tracer file that wants you to Continue reading

Be an Amazon Developer for $0

Be an Amazon Developer for $0
I believe that as of today, I have uploaded the “Check the Cheque” app to Amazon’s app store in November 12, 2018. Now that six months have passed by, I want to report what I have learned and my experience with Amazon’s digital distribution service. First, you don’t need to pay a yearly or one-time fee. Its $0! Anyone can just upload their newly created app to the Appstore and you will make your quick money. Well, in reality, you need to have patience and you need to lower your expectations. If you can create an Android app with Android Studio 3.0, then you can quickly upload the same APK file to Amazon’s developers site. You can test your app Continue reading

Cisco Routing & Switching (Scaling Networks) + ICND1 Exam

Cisco Routing & Switching (Scaling Networks) + ICND1 Exam
I have finished the 3rd CCNA: Scaling Networks course and that leaves me with 1 more to go. Also, I took the ICND1 certification test during this time period. So this post will be a 2-in-1 post special. So first, let me tell you the Scaling Networks course that I took at Palomar College, San Diego. It’s tough! In the first 8 weeks of spring semester, Palomar College offers Cisco network class for about $150. I took the other two courses (Introduction to Networks and Routing and Switching Essentials) and I have to say that the coursework is a bit tougher. One thing that I felt that the course is a bit faster and if you need to read a bit more. Sometimes, Continue reading

Free 1-year LinkedIn Premium for Service Members, Veterans, etc.

This is a quick review for 1-year LinkedIn premium and I have to say it’s pretty good for U.S. Armed Forces who are now entering civilian job market. I tried this free offer for Veterans and I have to say it the only thing I like was the In Learning section which consist of educational videos for certification, learning new skills, and job interviews preparation. Therefore, this post is about a free service that I recommend for Veterans, service members, and/or military spouses. Like 12 months ago (April 10, 2018), I stumble into this: LinkedIn offers U.S. service members and veterans a free 1-year Premium Career subscription I used it and I have to say Continue reading

Translate Your App for Cheap

Translate Your App for Cheap
Almost a year later, I wanted my app to appeal to non-English speaking people to download the application. Sadly, I only know two languages and that means that I have a limit to localize the app. Translating the app to Spanish was easy, but I wanted at least 5 other languages. However, translation could be expensive if the programmer chooses to add many words in the app. Thank fully Google does provide a service for Android developers to go global: translation. My budget I set aside for translation was like $65. I wanted five languages or more. There were two options that fit my criteria. Google Play console does have a place for developers to translate the Continue reading
